Introduction to Process Tomography
A half day introduction on Monday 25th February 2008
at the University of Manchester, 12 noon to 3.30pm

What’s process tomography all about?

“Overall it has been demonstrated that the ERT [electrical resistance tomography] system can provide very valuable information for the monitoring and control of multiphase processes”

Dr F.X. Ricard, GlaxoSmithKline

“Tomographic imaging provides feedback for improved operation”

Dr D.M. Scott, Du Pont

“Tomography is one of the few tools that gives information about what is actually happening inside”

The Chemical Engineer

The UK leads the world in the new field of process tomography, a technology that allows users to see spatial variations in their processes. The key outputs of process tomography instrumentation are:

  • more reliable detection of process end points
  • new process information
With benefits to users of
  • lower production costs through increased efficiencies and better yields
  • more efficient process development

The VCIPT is pleased to present an Introduction to Process Tomography Monday 25th February 2008 at the University of Manchester.

The meeting will cover presentations from:

  • leading industrial users
  • leading technology suppliers
  • leading academics in the field

There will also be a number of live demonstrations of process tomography in action.

Full details and registration form are available as a Word Document or PDF

The meeting is fully subsidised as a dissemination activity supported by EPSRC
